United FC fought til the end! The penalty loss in the cup game.

On the 15th of October United FC faced City FC from Dubai. The game started with the attempts to score from our club. United FC controlled the ball and tried to create a 100% chance. However on the 17th minute City FC had a counterattack and scored from the first chance created. Then United FC started to play mostly on the third part of the pitch trying to even the score. Unfortunately, the was the same after the final whistle.

The second half started with the substitution. Essa Walid left the pitch and Ahmed Malalla entered the game. There were more crosses to the opponent’s box. So both our tall forward Ahmed and Imade could play with the header. Then Karamoko and Essa Marwan entered the game and started helping the team to even the score. On the 71st minute Imade scored and United FC started feeling more confident. Our team kept pressing. Then on the 82nd minute Ahmed Malalla scored another one. It was his first goal since he was injured in the game against Fujairah FC. So our team tried to keep the score. However on the 90th minute of the game City FC’s player even the score. So both teams had to play extra time.

During the extra time no goals were scored. Both teams played with great pace. They left all their strength on the field. In the end both teams had to shoot penalties. Penalties are always unpredictable. So this time United FC wasn’t so lucky. City FC won the game and went to the next round of President’s Cup.

It was a long a tough game. Our guys fought til the very end. Unfortunately, it is the end of United FC’s journey in President’s Cup tournament. But our team can take the rematch on next Sunday.
