United FC Creates History: Triumph Over Sharjah FC in the President’s Cup Thriller!

On October 24, United FC lived through one of the most memorable nights in the club’s history. Facing Sharjah FC — one of the UAE’s football powerhouses — in the President’s Cup Round of 16, United FC showed immense character, courage, and unity to claim a historic victory and move forward to the Round of 8.

The match at Sharjah Stadium began with high intensity. Both teams fought for control, and Sharjah managed to take the lead in the 37th minute, making it a difficult first half for United FC. Despite trailing 1–0 at halftime, Andrea Pirlo’s side returned to the pitch full of belief and determination.

In the second half, United FC’s persistence paid off. After a well-delivered corner kick, the ball found Haris Seferovic, who calmly set up Moustapha Name, and the Senegalese midfielder — the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champion — scored his debut goal for United FC to make it 1–1. The equaliser sparked new life into the team and filled the away supporters with hope.

Neither side managed to find the winning goal in regulation time, sending the match into extra time, which also ended with the score still tied at 1–1. The contest would be decided by a penalty shootout — and United FC rose to the occasion in stunning fashion.

Every single United FC player who stepped up to the spot converted their penalty, showing ice-cold composure. Finally, Dao scored the decisive goal, securing a 5–4 shootout victory and sending United FC into the quarterfinals of the President’s Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

Goalkeeper Inayat Noor delivered a heroic performance, making several crucial saves during the game and was rightfully chosen as the Player of the Match.

This result marked another incredible moment in Andrea Pirlo’s tenure as head coach. Under his leadership, United FC continues to show discipline, tactical brilliance, and belief. His influence has transformed the squad into a united, confident team capable of competing against the best.

A special thanks goes to our players, coaching staff, management, and the amazing United FC supporters who believed in the team every step of the way. This victory belongs to the entire United family.

The journey continues as United FC returns to First Division League action on November 1, facing Hatta FC. The match promises to be another thrilling chapter in this exciting season.

Let’s keep writing history together — with passion, unity, and belief.

Forza UNITED!
We are United! We are Family! We develop Class!
