Child safeguarding policy
How United FC keeps children safe in its academy and programmes, and how to raise a concern.
Our commitment
United FC works with children and young people every week through its academy, trials and community programmes. Their safety and wellbeing come first — before results, selection or any commercial interest.
This policy applies to everyone who works with children on behalf of the club: coaches, staff, medical team, volunteers, contractors and players taking part in club activities.
What we expect of everyone at the club
- Treat every child with respect, whatever their ability, background, nationality or religion.
- Never be alone with a child out of sight of other adults where it can be avoided.
- Communicate with children about football through their parents or guardians, or through official club channels — not through private messages.
- Photograph or film children only for club purposes and only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
- Never use physical punishment, humiliation or abusive language.
- Report any concern about a child's safety straight away, even if unsure.
Parents and guardians
Parents and guardians are welcome to watch training sessions and matches. We keep their contact details only to reach them about their child's participation, as described in our privacy notice.
If a child is injured or unwell during a club activity, we contact the parent or guardian immediately.
Raising a concern
Anyone — a child, a parent, a member of staff or a visitor — can raise a concern about a child's safety or about the behaviour of an adult at the club by writing to academy@utdfc.ae. Every concern is taken seriously, handled in confidence and answered.
Where a child may be in immediate danger, contact the police first (999 in the UAE).
Review
The club reviews this policy at least once a season and whenever the law or our activities change.
